GGBN conferences

The Global Genome Biodiversity Network (GGBN) is an unincorporated international network of institutions that share an interest in long-term preservation of frozen biological specimens and samples representing the diversity of non-human life on Earth. The network was formed in 2011 with the principal aim of making high-quality well-documented and vouchered collections that store DNA or tissue samples of biodiversity, discoverable for research. GGBN sets standards of collaboration to-wards excellence in collections stewardship information access and sharing and responsible and ethical use of such collections. GGBN supports accessibility and the efficient coordinated expansion of biodiversity biobanks worldwide. Biodiversity biobank collections professionals come from all over the world to attend the GGBN conference. GGBN conferences encourage formal and informal interaction between vendors and meeting participants in various ways - a formal exhibit hall, vendor organization of and/or participation in product demonstrations, morning and afternoon coffee breaks held in the exhibit hall, and an ice breaker and reception dinner where vendors and participants can mingle in a relaxed setting.
