GGBN Members and prospective Members are eligible to apply for funding through various Awards Programs made available by GGBN, its partners and other member institutions as funding is available. Current and past funding opportunities are included here.

GGBN-GGI Awards Program

The Global Genome Biodiversity Network-Global Genome Initiative Awards Program provides funding for projects that support the discoverability of new genetic collections through GGBN's Data Portal. This program is underwritten by GGBN's Partner, the Global Genome Initiative (GGI).

GGI-Gardens Awards Program

This program provides funding to gardens and herbaria to collect genome-quality tissues and herbarium vouchers from their living collections, with samples to be made discoverable on the GGBN Data Portal either through their own institution or another GGBN Member biorepository. Funding opportunities are made available through collaboration and funding from GGBN Partners the Global Genome Initative for Gardens (GGI-Gardens), the Global Genome Initiative (GGI), as well as Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) and the United States Botanic Garden (USBG).

GGBN Meeting Travel Support (for GGBN Meetings Only)

GGBN Contributing Members attending GGBN Meetings are eligible to apply for funding support on a competitive basis as funds are available. Announcements are made directly to GGBN Members. This program is underwritten by GGBN Member Contributions.
